For the past couple of days, we have been talking about giving back and giving thanks. Of course, with Thanksgiving being the theme of the month, there is no better time to discuss the subject.
We have learned so much about giving for the whole duration of the gift issue. I, with the all the research I’ve done, and hopefully you, the readers and fellow women in green.
It’s very rewarding on my part to know that I have roused a dormant passion in you to play a part in saving the planet. Not all of you may have always wanted to participate in something big, but you have at least opened your minds to the possibility of making a change by doing small things.
This coming Tuesday, November 28, 2017, a global movement that was started in 2012, will once again keep the giving spirit on a roll. #GivingTuesday hopes to rally individuals and organizations to give to their local charities.
Giving doesn’t end on Thanksgiving. And truthfully, I don’t see why it should.
Following popular shopping events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday and right after Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday has already done some major promotions on their website www.givingtuesday.org.
Many organizations, business and non-profit alike, are uniting in the name of this charitable campaign. People are engaging on social media, using the impact-inducing hashtag.
You don’t have to ask if you or your group are qualified. If you have the heart to do it, you will find ways to act on it. On their website you will find a directory of organizations, charities, events and more in your own community.
In conclusion to our gift issue, I’d like to encourage everyone to be a part of #GivingTuesday and give what you can to those in need. Being involved and taking responsibility has never been easier. The next move is up to you.
